EcoVille in Cahul: Learning Through Play About Community and the Environment

During the study visit “EmpowerYouth – Learning and action for civic engagement and climate impact”, organised in Bucharest by the Romanian Center for European Policies – CRPE, A.O. Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară had the opportunity to discover and test “EcoVille”, an interactive educational game focused on sustainability, cooperation and civic engagement.

The experience gained during the visit was later brought to Cahul as well. The EcoVille game was received with interest by CRDC volunteers and integrated into the organisation’s activities with young people and children, including the camps organised by us.

Through the game, participants are encouraged to discuss environmental protection, responsibility, cooperation, decision-making and the future of the community. In an accessible and friendly format, children and young people can better understand how individual and collective choices influence the environment and the community in which they live.

For CRDC, EcoVille is a concrete example of how non-formal education tools can be adopted, adapted and effectively used in local activities.

We continue to promote environmental education, active youth participation and innovative learning methods that can respond to the realities and needs of communities in the south of the Republic of Moldova.

We thank the Romanian Center for European Policies – CRPE for the learning opportunity, the tools provided and the inspiration that we were able to bring further to Cahul.
