Community Impact Through the 2% Income Tax Redirection Mechanism

Community Impact Through the 2% Income Tax Redirection Mechanism

In 2025, the Regional Center for Community Development (CRDC) leveraged the support of citizens who chose to redirect 2% of their income tax to the organization, transforming this contribution into a concrete intervention for the benefit of the Cahul municipality.

As a result of this campaign, CRDC collected a total amount of 2,195.07 MDL, which was used to support sterilization actions for stray animals—an essential measure for reducing abandonment and preventing the overpopulation of animals in urban areas.

With the help of these financial resources:

  • two stray dogs and one cat were sterilized;

  • the collected funds covered approximately 80% of the veterinary procedure costs;

  • the remaining amount was covered through the contribution of the Cahul Municipality City Hall, highlighting the importance of cooperation between civil society and local public authorities.

The implementation of these actions contributes to increased public safety, promotes responsibility towards animals, and supports a sustainable community intervention model based on prevention and institutional cooperation.

CRDC expresses its gratitude to all taxpayers who chose to support this initiative through the 2% redirection mechanism. Their involvement confirms that civic participation can generate measurable results and tangible benefits for the community.

We continue to encourage citizens to redirect 2% of their income tax to CRDC, in order to expand actions dedicated to animal protection and to support initiatives that contribute to a safer, more responsible, and more humane Cahul.
