Inclusion of Refugees and Migrants in Cahul: From Assistance to Participation and Local Contribution

This policy brief was developed with the aim of informing local decision-making on the inclusion of refugees and migrants in Cahul municipality by presenting the findings, results and recommendations formulated within the project “Protection Mechanisms for Migrants and Refugees in Cahul”.

The document contains an analysis of the main needs and challenges identified through work with refugees, migrants, local public authorities, relevant institutions and community partners. It also highlights the importance of the local referral and case management mechanism, interinstitutional cooperation, consultation with refugees and migrants, and their involvement in local participation and decision-making processes.

The policy brief includes practical recommendations for local public authorities, institutions, civil society organizations and other community actors, aimed at strengthening access to services, protection, civic participation and social cohesion at local level.
