“Together We Say NO to Violence” – Creative Workshop with Young Women from Cahul Medical College
The Regional Center for Community Development, in collaboration with the Peer Educators Team of Cahul Medical College, organized the creative workshop “Together We Say NO to Violence”, dedicated to young women studying at the institution.
The activity combined painting on textile tote bags with discussions on the prevention of gender-based violence, respect, equality, empathy, and acceptance, giving participants an opportunity to explore these topics in an interactive and accessible format.
Messages against violence expressed through color
During the workshop, participants personalized their own textile tote bags with drawings, colors, and messages reflecting the values discussed throughout the activity.
The creative process was used as a starting point for discussing the importance of an environment in which every person can feel safe, respected, and accepted, as well as the role young people can play in preventing violence and discriminatory behavior.
The activity emphasized that preventing violence is not only about recognizing its different forms, but also about actively promoting relationships based on respect, personal boundaries, equality, and mutual support.
Through their own creations, the young women had the opportunity to convey messages of acceptance and solidarity and to transform simple objects that they can later use in their everyday lives into carriers of messages against violence.
Young people as part of GBV prevention
The collaboration with the Peer Educators Team of Cahul Medical College made it possible to organize the activity in a format that was accessible and relevant to young participants and based on participation and open communication.
The workshop continues a series of activities carried out by the Regional Center for Community Development in communities and educational institutions across the Cahul region to increase awareness of gender-based violence and promote healthy relationships and behaviors based on respect.
Through such activities, we aim to bring discussions about violence prevention closer to young people and create contexts in which they are not only recipients of information, but also active participants in promoting positive change within their own communities.
