The 2% Campaign: Community Engagement for Addressing the Issue of Stray Dogs in Cahul

The 2% Campaign: Community Engagement for Addressing the Issue of Stray Dogs in Cahul

During March and April, the team of the Regional Community Development Center (CRDC) carried out a series of visits to public institutions and organizations in the municipality of Cahul as part of the 2% awareness campaign.

Throughout these meetings, we discussed with institutional representatives what the 2% mechanism entails, how it functions, and how each taxpayer can use it to support efforts aimed at addressing the issue of stray dogs in Cahul — a pressing challenge for the local community.

The 2% mechanism allows every individual taxpayer to support the work of a non-governmental organization at no additional cost by redirecting a portion of the income tax already paid to the state. Through this tool, citizens can actively contribute to local solutions with tangible community impact.

We encourage all citizens to join this initiative and redirect 2% of their income tax to the Regional Community Development Center (CRDC) by indicating the fiscal code 1019620011478 when submitting their income tax declaration to the State Tax Service, either in person or online.

Through this contribution, each individual can support our efforts to responsibly and sustainably address the issue of stray dogs and to improve the overall quality of life in our community.

This activity is implemented within the project “Civil Society Resilience in the Eastern Partnership Countries”, part of a regional initiative implemented by People in Need Moldova, financed by the European Union in the Republic of Moldova and co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, under the Transition Cooperation Programme.
