New Beginnings for the #CahulFărăViolență Campaign

In August 2026, A.O. Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară launched a new stage of activities carried out under the message #CahulFărăViolență, within the project “Together for Safety: Social Cohesion and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence in the Cahul Region”.

These first activities marked the beginning of a community process through which we aim to bring discussions about safety, support, solidarity and the prevention of gender-based violence closer to people. We believe that change begins through dialogue, accurate information and community engagement.

On 24 August 2026, in Roșu village, an OWIS screening with a guided discussion was organized. The activity offered participants a space for reflection on domestic violence, community response, stereotypes and available support.

On 30 August 2026, the CRDC team visited Andrușul de Sus village, where it held a mobile information session. The discussions focused on the role of the community in preventing violence, the importance of mutual support and the need to know referral and assistance mechanisms.

Through these activities, the #CahulFărăViolență campaign continues to create safe spaces for dialogue and connection among women, young people, community members, refugees and local actors. We want this message to reach as many communities as possible in the Cahul region and to contribute to building a culture of respect, safety and non-violence.

We thank the local public authorities and the communities of Roșu and Andrușul de Sus villages for their openness, hospitality and support in organizing the activities.

These activities are organized by A.O. Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară under the aegis of the Gender Equality Platform, with the support of Gender-Centru, and are part of a programme aimed at empowering women-led organizations in their efforts to prevent and respond to gender-based violence. This initiative is supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and funded by the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
