For the Third Consecutive Year, CRDC Joins the #ReadMyLips Campaign

For the third consecutive year, A.O. Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară is joining the international #ReadMyLips campaign, supporting an essential message about personal boundaries, consent and safety: #NoMeansNo.

In 2026, the campaign brought together young women from Cahul and Ceadîr-Lunga, who joined CRDC in bringing this message to communities across southern Moldova.

Through their participation, the young women contributed to promoting a culture in which personal boundaries are respected, consent is understood and upheld, and pressure, insistence or assumptions have no place in relationships between people.

The campaign’s message is clear: a “No” does not require further explanation or justification. Respect for a person’s boundaries and decisions should be the norm in every relationship and every community.

Bringing the campaign closer to communities in the south

CRDC’s involvement in this initiative is also connected to the organization’s membership in the Gender Equality Platform, a national network bringing together organizations actively working to promote gender equality, respect, rights and safety.

For CRDC, participation in the Platform is a two-way process: we bring the experiences and realities of communities from the Cahul region into national discussions, while at the same time helping bring nationally promoted initiatives, messages and good practices closer to communities in southern Moldova.

This year’s campaign also created an opportunity for young women from Cahul and Ceadîr-Lunga to become active contributors to a shared message about respect and responsibility in human relationships.

Boundaries. Consent. Safety.

For us, these three concepts are more than just a campaign slogan.

They represent principles that should be reflected in personal relationships, educational spaces, communities and in the way we talk about equality and safety.

Campaigns of this kind help bring into the public space discussions that are often avoided or treated superficially, while delivering clear messages about respecting personal autonomy and boundaries. The message “No means no” has long been used in awareness campaigns focused on preventing violence and respecting personal boundaries.

As part of the 2026 edition, CRDC also collaborated with A.O. MIRKIRAS and the Cahul District Youth Centre, contributing to the involvement of young women from the two communities and to extending the campaign’s message at regional level.

For CRDC, continuity matters. Joining this campaign for the third consecutive year means that messages about gender equality, consent and respect are not isolated actions, but are consistently integrated into our work with young people and communities.

We are glad that, in 2026, the voices of young women from southern Moldova are once again part of this initiative and contribute to a message that must be heard clearly and unequivocally:

#NoMeansNo.
