CRDC at the 2026 General Assembly of the Platform for Gender Equality

CRDC at the 2026 General Assembly of the Platform for Gender Equality

On 19–20 June 2026, A.O. Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară participated in the General Assembly of the Platform for Gender Equality, alongside organisations, women and men activists engaged in promoting gender equality, women’s rights and a more equitable society.

Over the course of two days, the Platform’s members reviewed the activities of the previous period, discussed priorities for the coming year and outlined common directions for action aimed at strengthening the gender equality movement in the Republic of Moldova.

For CRDC, participation in the General Assembly represents an important opportunity to connect with organisations and individuals who share common values and objectives, as well as a space to contribute to the development of stronger mechanisms for cooperation and representation within civil society.

One of the important outcomes of this General Assembly was the election of Irina Bejan, Administrator of A.O. Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară, as a member of the Ethics Commission of the Platform for Gender Equality.

This responsibility involves contributing to the promotion and observance of the principles of integrity, equity, respect, accountability and ethical conduct within the Platform and in the relationships among its members.

For CRDC, involvement in the Platform for Gender Equality means more than membership in an important national network. It means taking an active role in promoting women’s rights, preventing discrimination and gender-based violence, strengthening women’s participation, and developing communities where equality and respect are principles applied in practice.

Participation in the Platform’s internal structures also provides an opportunity to contribute to strengthening organisational mechanisms based on transparency, accountability and solidarity among civil society organisations.

We believe in the importance of spaces where the experiences of local organisations are heard and valued, and where the voices of women and communities can contribute to shaping common positions and actions at national level.

A.O. Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară will continue to actively engage in the work of the Platform for Gender Equality and, drawing on its experience of working in communities, contribute to promoting gender equality and supporting initiatives that bring about concrete change for women and girls.

We thank the Platform for Gender Equality for its trust, cooperation and the shared space for dialogue, learning and action.

The event was held with the support of the East Europe Foundation – Moldova, using financial resources provided by the Government of Norway.
