CRDC in Dialogue with ANPCV: Local Expertise from Cahul and Ceadîr-Lunga Connected to the National Agenda on Violence Prevention
During a coordination meeting with ANPCV Republica Moldova, the team of the Regional Center for Community Development (CRDC) presented its experience and expertise accumulated at local level in the field of violence prevention and response, with a focus on community-based interventions, multisectoral partnerships, and awareness-raising campaigns.
The discussion provided an opportunity to outline how CRDC structures its work: what we do, who we work with, and how we connect local initiatives to national policies and campaigns. A central point of the dialogue was the “Cahul Fără Violență” campaign, coordinated by CRDC and presented as a local good practice aligned with the national “Moldova Fără Violență” campaign, implemented annually within the framework of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
CRDC highlighted that in 2025 the “Cahul Fără Violență” campaign was implemented in an expanded format through a network of over 30 social actors — public institutions, specialized services, civil society organizations, community leaders, and media partners — actively involved in prevention, information, and community mobilization activities. At the same time, the campaign’s extension to Ceadîr-Lunga through local partners was emphasized, strengthening interregional cooperation.
“For us, the dialogue with ANPCV means more than a working meeting. It is an opportunity to show that prevention starts at community level and that functional practices already exist, built on trust, collaboration, and consistency. The ‘Cahul Fără Violență’ campaign is an example of local mobilization, and the fact that we can connect this experience to the national agenda increases the chances of a more coherent response to violence that is closer to the real needs of women and girls,” stated Irina Bejan, Administrator of CRDC.
Another key element of the discussion was the presentation of the local resource mapping carried out by CRDC and the Resource Guide for Girls and Women, a practical tool developed to support safe orientation, prevention, and access to support services. These resources are consistently used in field activities and public campaigns, contributing to increased awareness and facilitating referrals to existing services.
The dialogue with ANPCV reaffirmed the importance of cooperation between national and community levels, as well as the role of local organizations in early violence prevention and in building a coordinated response adapted to local realities.
CRDC reaffirms its commitment to continuing active partnerships, contributing practical expertise, and strengthening local initiatives in Cahul and the region, in close connection with the national agenda on violence prevention and the protection of women’s and girls’ rights and dignity.
