Creative Workshop as Part of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” Campaign in Cahul

Creative Workshop as Part of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” Campaign in Cahul

Yesterday, at the Community Center Cahul, a creative workshop was held as part of the international “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign. The activity brought together women from the community, volunteers, and civically engaged individuals in a safe and open space dedicated to solidarity, dialogue, and creative expression.

During the workshop, participants created orange ribbons — a widely recognized symbol of the fight against gender-based violence — which will accompany the activities carried out throughout the campaign. The creative process was complemented by open discussions and shared reflections on safety, courage, and community responsibility, with each ribbon becoming a clear statement that violence has no place in our communities.

The activity was made possible thanks to the involvement and support of our partners and collaborators. We extend our gratitude to A.O. Creative Women for their inspiration and contribution, to the team of the General Inspectorate for Migration for their openness and ongoing cooperation, as well as to the volunteers of the Regional Community Development Center, who consistently bring energy, dedication, and meaningful engagement to community activities.

We also appreciate the active participation of all the women who chose to be part of this workshop and to convey an essential message: safety is a fundamental right, not a privilege.

The workshop is part of a series of actions carried out under the local campaign #CahulFărăViolență, implemented between November 25 and December 10. Through these initiatives, we continue to contribute to building a more informed, united, and supportive community, where violence prevention and the protection of the rights of women and girls remain shared priorities.
