A new awareness-raising activity on gender-based violence held with the women of Taraclia
The Regional Center for Community Development organized a new awareness-raising activity on gender-based violence, carried out together with a group of women from the town of Taraclia. The event provided a safe space for open dialogue and information-sharing, aiming to help build a more informed and better protected community.
During the discussion, participants explored various forms of gender-based violence, how these can be recognized, and the barriers that often prevent women from reporting. A special focus was placed on access to services and the institutions in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia where women can seek help in risk situations — information presented in the guide “Your Safety Comes First”, developed by our colleagues from A.O. “Mirkiras.”
We also reviewed relevant provisions of national legislation that guarantee the rights and protection of those affected by violence, offering participants a clearer understanding of the legal tools available to them.
Through such activities, we continue to promote awareness, solidarity, and mutual support within communities. Only through knowledge and active engagement can we create an environment where every woman feels safe and respected.
