Continuing our efforts to raise awareness about gender-based violence among young women

As part of the international “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign, the Regional Community Development Center carried out another awareness-raising activity with students of the Faculty of Economics, Engineering and Applied Sciences at the “Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu” University in Cahul.

The purpose of the meeting was to create a safe space for discussing gender-based violence and the ways in which it can manifest in everyday life. Participants explored the main forms of violence — from psychological and economic to online — and discussed the impact such behaviours can have on individuals.

A special focus was placed on digital violence, the central theme of this year’s campaign. Students examined situations in which the online space can become unsafe, discussed boundaries, control, manipulation, and harassment in digital environments, as well as ways to prevent or report such cases.

Through this initiative, CRDC continues to promote a culture of respect and non-violence, encouraging young people to recognize the signs of violence and actively contribute to building safe communities both offline and online.
