Launch of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” Campaign in Cahul

The international campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” has officially begun in Cahul, marking a period dedicated to strengthening solidarity, raising awareness, and engaging the community in preventing all forms of violence.

As part of the campaign, the team of A.O. Regional Community Development Center, together with local partners, distributed orange ribbons — the international symbol of the fight against violence — and QR cards linking to the guide “Your Safety Is a Priority”. The guide provides quick access to practical information on preventing, recognizing, and reporting cases of violence, supporting vulnerable individuals and encouraging responsible behavior across the community.

Strong partnerships play a key role in these efforts. We are joined by institutions and organizations that share our commitment to safety and respect for every person:

  • Community Center Cahul

  • General Inspectorate for Migration, Ministry of Internal Affairs

  • AO Creative Women

  • Cahul Police Inspectorate

  • General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Ministry of Internal Affairs

  • Peer Educators from the “Iulia Hasdeu” College in Cahul

  • Southern Regional Directorate of the Border Police

Throughout the 16 days, activities focused on awareness, information, and community engagement will continue, aiming to strengthen the local response to gender-based violence and foster a safer environment for everyone.

Stay connected to follow the upcoming activities and to join the efforts to prevent violence.
