CRDC Joined the “Moldova Without Violence” Manifest in Cahul

On 25 November 2025, the Public Association Regional Center for Community Development joined the public manifest held in Cahul to mark the launch of the National Campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence”.

The event brought together around 400 people in Independence Square – representatives of public institutions, local authorities, international organizations, civil society and the community – around a common message: violence cannot be accepted or normalized, whether it occurs within the family, in the community or online.

“Moldova Without Violence” – a shared message for the community

The 2025 campaign will be carried out under the national message “Moldova Without Violence”, while this edition places particular emphasis on digital violence, promoted through the slogan #NOEXCUSE for digital violence.

Violence in the online environment is no less real than other forms of abuse. Harassment, threats, control, the non-consensual sharing of images or other forms of digital aggression can deeply affect the safety and wellbeing of those targeted. The campaign aims to raise awareness of these risks and of the protection mechanisms available.

CRDC’s participation as part of a broader commitment

For CRDC, participation in the manifest is part of the organization’s broader work on gender equality, preventing discrimination, informing communities and supporting initiatives that promote the safety and dignity of women and girls.

We consider it important that messages on preventing violence do not remain limited to national campaigns, but reach communities, institutions, schools, youth groups and the spaces where people interact every day.

Prevention also begins with the ability to recognize abusive behaviour, speak about it, support those affected and refuse to tolerate forms of violence that are sometimes minimized or treated as “normal”.

16 days of activism, but a commitment that must continue

The “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” campaign will run between 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and 10 December, Human Rights Day.

For us, however, its message is not limited to these 16 days. A safer community is built through continuous information, accessible services, institutional accountability, solidarity and active participation.

CRDC will continue to take part in initiatives that contribute to preventing gender-based violence and promoting a community in which the safety, respect and dignity of every person are protected.

The Cahul manifest was part of the simultaneous launch of the national campaign in Chișinău, Bălți and Cahul, coordinated by the National Agency for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence together with the national and international partners involved in the campaign.
