Online Risks — Awareness and Protection for Children
With responsibility and care for the local community, our team organized the educational session “Online Risks” at the Community Center Cahul, aimed at increasing children’s awareness and digital safety.
The activity aimed to familiarize participants with the main risks of the online environment, such as exposure to inappropriate content, communication with strangers, cyberbullying, and the sharing of personal data. Children learned how to recognize dangerous situations, respond appropriately, and apply simple measures to navigate the internet safely.
The session was interactive and included open discussions, real-life examples, and practical recommendations adapted to the participants’ age. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of open communication between children and parents as a key factor in preventing online risks and strengthening trust within the family.
Through this activity, we aimed to contribute to the development of a digital safety culture and to encourage responsible use of technology among children, in a context where the online environment is becoming an increasingly integral part of their daily lives.
The activity was implemented within the project “Strengthening Resilience through Employment and Social Cohesion”, implemented by a consortium of Helvetas, HEKS/EPER Moldova, and the Norwegian Refugee Council, with financial support from Swiss Solidarity and Swiss Cooperation in Moldova.
