Community Fair for Cohesion and Inclusion in Cahul
Community Center Cahul recently hosted the Community Fair for Cohesion and Inclusion, an event dedicated to promoting dialogue, solidarity, and integration between members of the local community and refugees.
The event brought together participants from diverse backgrounds in an open and friendly environment, where social interaction, the exchange of experiences, and shared activities became a natural bond between people. The fair provided a safe space for interaction, encouraging mutual understanding and the development of relationships based on respect and trust.
A highlight of the event was the wreath-making workshop, facilitated together with Anna Vadaturskaea, originally from Ukraine, a talented craftswoman passionate about handmade art. The activity brought participants together in a creative process, generating smiles, positive energy, and the opportunity to create shared memories through hands-on work and authentic dialogue.
Through this initiative, we aimed to promote social cohesion, intercultural understanding, and solidarity among different community groups, demonstrating that inclusion is built through real encounters, joint activities, and openness to diversity.
We thank everyone who joined us and contributed to the warm atmosphere and success of this event. The participants’ engagement and spirit of collaboration once again confirmed the importance of community spaces as platforms for connection and mutual support.
The activity was organized within the project “Increasing Resilience through Employment and Social Cohesion”, implemented by a consortium of Helvetas, HEKS/EPER Moldova, and Norwegian Refugee Council, with financial support from Swiss Solidarity and Swiss Cooperation in Moldova.
