CRDC Participated in the Local Integration Workshop “From Coordination to Action” Held in Cahul

On 1 October 2026, the Regional Centre for Community Development (CRDC) participated in the local integration workshop “From Coordination to Action: Strengthening the Multidisciplinary Response to Refugees and Migrants in Moldova”, organised by People in Need Moldova at the Cahul Community Centre.

The activity was held within the framework of the project “Cities and Regions for All (CR4A): Full Integration of Refugees and Migrants in Urban and Rural Environments” and brought together representatives of local and national public institutions, civil society organisations and other stakeholders involved in refugee and migrant integration processes.

From identifying challenges to concrete solutions

The workshop provided a platform for collaborative work and dialogue on current integration policies and practices, refugees' and migrants' access to services, and the effectiveness of interinstitutional cooperation mechanisms.

Through the analysis of practical case studies, participants explored challenges that may arise in the provision of assistance, identified gaps in service delivery and discussed the division of roles and responsibilities among the institutions and organisations involved.

An important part of the workshop was the SWOT analysis, which allowed participants to examine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats within the local support system for refugees and migrants.

Building on these findings, discussions focused on the capacities, resources and partnerships needed to improve cooperation and identify practical measures that could be implemented over the next 30, 60 and 90 days.

Interinstitutional cooperation is essential for local integration

For the Regional Centre for Community Development, participation in this workshop was particularly relevant in the context of the organisation's involvement in local coordination and inclusion mechanisms for refugees and migrants in the Cahul region.

As a co-chair of the Local Refugee Coordination Forum, alongside UNHCR and Cahul Municipality, CRDC supports the development of cooperation mechanisms that facilitate access to services, communication among institutions and the identification of solutions tailored to the needs of refugees, migrants and the host community.

We believe that an effective multidisciplinary response requires not only the availability of services but also functional coordination among institutions, clearly defined responsibilities and the ability to turn identified challenges into concrete actions.

We appreciate People in Need Moldova's initiative to bring together relevant stakeholders through this workshop and the opportunity to contribute to practical discussions on improving cooperation at the local level.

We remain committed to developing inclusive communities and strengthening partnerships that contribute to the integration of refugees and migrants in the Cahul region.
