CRDC at the CivicLink Moldova Regional Training on Digital Skills and AI Use

On 23 September 2026, A.O. Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară participated in a regional training held in Cahul as part of the “CivicLink Moldova” project, dedicated to strengthening the digital skills of civil society organizations, community leaders and local activists from the southern region of the Republic of Moldova.

Hosted by CONTACT-Cahul Center, the activity provided participants with a practical space for learning and exchanging experience around two topics that are becoming increasingly relevant to the work of non-governmental organizations: the use of electronic public services and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence tools into organizational work and project development.

Electronic public services and the work of civil society organizations

The first part of the training, facilitated by Igor Aramă, focused on the ecosystem of electronic public services in the Republic of Moldova.

Participants discussed digital transformation and e-government, the main electronic platforms and services available to citizens and organizations, authentication and digital identity, electronic signatures, online payments and applications, as well as digital interaction with public institutions.

Particular attention was given to how civil society organizations can use these tools in their own work, as well as to the role they can play in supporting beneficiaries and communities that face difficulties in accessing digital services.

The discussions also addressed existing barriers and practical situations encountered by organizations and citizens throughout the digitalization process.

Artificial intelligence in project development and proposal writing

The second part of the training, facilitated by Tudor Lapp, focused on the use of artificial intelligence in the work of civil society organizations and, in particular, in project development.

Participants explored how AI tools can be used to analyze funding calls, identify key requirements, structure a project idea and develop components such as the problem statement, goal, objectives, target groups, activities, results and indicators.

An important topic was the formulation of effective prompts and the need to provide sufficient context, a clearly defined task, relevant information and the necessary constraints in order to obtain useful and accurate results.

At the same time, the training was not limited to the benefits of using artificial intelligence. It also addressed the limitations and risks associated with these tools, including the possibility of generating inaccurate information, the need to verify results, confidentiality, data protection, and the ethical and responsible use of AI.

For the CRDC team, participation in the training was both interesting and productive, particularly due to the practical nature of the sessions and the opportunity to explore tools that can be integrated into the organization’s current work processes.

The digitalization of internal processes and the responsible use of new technologies can contribute both to improving the efficiency of civil society organizations and to developing more accessible services and initiatives for the communities they work with.
