An important step for inclusive education in Crihana Veche: strengthened collaboration to support children with special educational needs

This week, at the initiative of the Regional Community Development Center (CRDC), a working meeting was held with the Crihana Veche Town Hall, bringing together members of the Multidisciplinary Commission for Inclusion, along with active citizens from the community.

Discussions focused on establishing an effective collaboration mechanism between the local public authority and the Multidisciplinary Commission for Inclusion—an essential step in ensuring the proper functioning and sustainability of the Inclusive Educational Resource Center in the locality. Participants also addressed challenges related to the integration of children with special educational needs and explored ways to develop an inclusive education system tailored to the needs of all children in the community.

A key outcome of this dialogue and cooperation process was the signing of the Memorandum of Collaboration between the Crihana Veche Town Hall and CRDC, which formalizes a shared commitment to supporting children with special educational needs. The document outlines concrete steps for the operation and sustainability of the center, the necessary resources, as well as the roles and responsibilities of each party involved, contributing to a clear and predictable framework for long-term cooperation.

We thank all participants for their active involvement, openness, and valuable contributions throughout this process. Special appreciation goes to the Crihana Veche Town Hall for its openness and support, demonstrating through this partnership a strong commitment to advancing more accessible and inclusive education at the local level.

This activity is carried out within the project “A.R.I.P.I. – Assistance and Resources for Inclusion and Individual Progress”, implemented by the Regional Community Development Center. The project is implemented under the “Active Citizens, Prosperous Communities” program, carried out by the East Europe Foundation, with financial support from the Embassy of Sweden in Chișinău and Swiss Cooperation in Moldova.

Through dialogue, collaboration, and shared responsibility, we are taking concrete steps toward a more empathetic and united community and an education system that responds to the needs of every child.
