RCCD at Erasmus+ “Youth Participation Lab 2.0: Youth against Disinformation”
Between October 4–12, 2025, a team of five young participants and one group leader from the Regional Community Development Center (A.O. CRDC) took part in the international project Erasmus+ Youth Participation Lab 2.0: Youth-led action against disinformation, held in Cumpăna, Romania. The project brought together participants from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Slovakia, providing an interactive learning space on combating disinformation and fostering critical thinking.
During the mobility, the participants attended thematic workshops on media literacy, fake news, misinformation, and malinformation, exploring creative ways to recognize and counter manipulative information. The activities included role plays, debates, and practical community journalism exercises, moderated by CRDC volunteers.
Beyond the educational sessions, the program featured a rich cultural exchange — visits to Antena 3 Constanța, meetings with representatives of the Cumpăna Municipality, and exploration of local cultural and artistic centers in Constanța. Participants learned traditional songs and dances from partner countries, in an atmosphere of openness and intercultural collaboration.
“For the CRDC youth, this project was a complete experience — we combined critical reflection on the role of media with the discovery of new cultures and realities. I was glad to see how our young people merged critical thinking, creativity, and civic engagement in an international setting.”
— Irina Bejan, group leader, A.O. CRDC
“I learned that each of us has the power to influence how information spreads. Now I look at news with more discernment and want to share what I’ve learned with others.”
— Daria Coșer, CRDC participant
This Erasmus+ experience strengthened CRDC’s mission to promote media literacy, youth participation, and intercultural dialogue as tools for social cohesion and community transformation.
We thank the coordinating organization GEYC – Group of the European Youth for Change for the opportunity to participate and for its role in empowering a new generation of critical and active young people.
