Human Rights Discussed with Young People in Cahul through an Interactive Activity

The Public Association Regional Center for Community Development, in partnership with the Cahul District Youth Center, carried out an educational activity dedicated to Human Rights and addressed to young people from the community.

The meeting aimed to create an accessible space for discussion about the fundamental rights of every person, the situations in which these rights may be violated, and the ways in which young people can recognize and respond to such situations.

Human Rights explained through concrete examples

During the activity, participants discussed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the principles underlying the protection of human dignity, and fundamental rights such as equality, freedom, safety, education and participation.

The discussions were complemented by concrete examples of human rights violations from both the local context and international settings, helping participants better understand the connection between general principles and situations encountered in everyday life.

Particular attention was given to young people’s ability to identify problematic situations, ask questions and understand which mechanisms or institutions may be relevant when a right is violated.

To consolidate the information discussed, participants also completed a thematic quiz, used both as a tool for checking knowledge and as a starting point for new questions and discussions.

The interactive format encouraged active participation, expression of opinions and critical thinking, giving young people the opportunity to analyse situations from different perspectives.

For CRDC, such activities are important because human rights education is not only about transmitting theoretical concepts, but also about developing young people’s capacity to understand, defend and promote these rights in the communities they are part of.

We thank the Cahul District Youth Center for the invitation and collaboration in organizing an activity that brought respect, equality, participation and human dignity to the forefront.

We will continue to support initiatives that help young people become better informed, more engaged and better prepared to actively participate in community life.
