YELI Regional Final: Recognition, Results and Next Steps

YELI Regional Final: Recognition, Results and Next Steps

The regional final event of the YELI project marked the conclusion of the second edition of the programme and provided a space for presenting the results achieved by the teams of young people from the south of the Republic of Moldova.

During the event, participants presented the stages they had gone through: local training sessions, transforming problems into advocacy mini-plans, dialogues with authorities and the implementation of local initiatives. Each team had the opportunity to speak about what it managed to achieve in its community, what challenges it faced and what steps could follow after the project’s completion.

The event was also a moment of recognition for the efforts made by the young people involved. The teams from Cahul, Cantemir, Novosiolovca and Ceadîr-Lunga were officially acknowledged and awarded, receiving practical resources that can be used to continue team activities and community engagement, including social board games and literature.

Throughout the project, 347 participants were involved in the activities, of whom 161 were unique direct beneficiaries. The project contributed to the development of young people’s advocacy, civic leadership and community organizing skills, and strengthened cooperation between initiative groups, local public authorities, educational institutions and community organizations.

YELI showed that young people from the south of the Republic of Moldova have ideas, energy and the capacity to contribute to changing their communities. Through training, mentoring, dialogue and concrete actions, the project created not only visible results, but also a foundation for future initiatives.

The YELI Caravan is coming to an end, but the processes started in the communities continue: through more youth-friendly spaces, local initiatives, dialogue with authorities and young people who are better prepared to make their voices heard.

The activities were organized by Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară within the project “The New Democracy Fund Moldova Extension 2025–2026”, implemented by the National Youth Council of Moldova, in partnership with DUF – Dansk Ungdoms Fællesråd (the Danish Youth Council), with the financial support of the New Democracy Fund.
