Easter Egg Hunt Opens CRDC’s Series of 8 Community Activities in Southern Moldova

On 5 April, A.O. Centrul Regional de Dezvoltare Comunitară organized the “Easter Egg Hunt” event at the Cahul Community Center, opening a series of community activities planned in the southern region from April to September 2026.

The event brought together children from the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Azerbaijan in a friendly and safe space built around play, creativity and direct interaction.

The children decorated eggs, took part in games and joint activities, and ended the event with a hunt for hidden chocolate eggs. Beyond its recreational component, the activity aimed to create a context in which children and families from different communities could get to know one another, communicate and build natural relationships.

Between April and September 2026, the programme plans 40 community activities nationwide, of which 8 will be organized by CRDC in localities across southern Moldova.

The activities will bring together children, young people, displaced families and members of host communities and will be developed around several areas: sport and teamwork, volunteering and community engagement, creative and media projects, debates, leadership initiatives and other activities adapted to local needs.

For CRDC, this series of activities represents an opportunity to create consistent spaces for interaction and dialogue over several months, rather than isolated events. We aim for each activity to contribute to bringing people closer together, strengthening trust and developing a stronger sense of belonging to the community.

A long-term partnership for cohesion and integration

The implementation of these activities is also part of a broader partnership with the General Inspectorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, which CRDC intends to develop over the long term.

For us, cooperation with IGM is important not only within this project, but also for developing sustainable mechanisms and initiatives related to integration, social cohesion and community dialogue in the southern region.

Direct work with displaced families, refugees, migrants and host communities requires continuity, coordination and stable relationships between civil society organizations and public institutions. For this reason, we see this cooperation as a foundation for future initiatives and for a joint working process that can continue beyond the activities planned for 2026.

For CRDC, such contexts are not merely opportunities for social interaction. They contribute to building natural relationships between people with different experiences and create the conditions for more open, inclusive and connected communities.
