What motivated you to participate in the “V.O.C.E.” project?
I was motivated by the desire to better understand community journalism and to learn how to approach local topics in an authentic and responsible way. I appreciated the idea of collaborating with professionals in the field and with other young people passionate about journalism.

What are the main differences between community journalism and traditional journalism?
Unlike traditional journalism, which focuses on objectivity and large-scale national or international events, community journalism is closer to citizens. It emphasizes local realities, direct community involvement, and a more personal tone. It also allows citizens to actively contribute to content creation, strengthening a sense of belonging and civic engagement.

Can you share an experience that highlighted the importance of community journalism for you?
Participating in the project offered me a new perspective on how journalism can positively influence a community. In addition to developing my writing and research skills, I learned to value the voice of the community in the media. Interacting with experienced journalists and other young journalism enthusiasts was extremely motivating and valuable.

Community journalism motivates citizens to take action to solve local problems, whether through volunteering or initiating community projects. When a community sees itself reflected in articles and reports, its members feel more involved and more connected.

How can community journalism be supported in the future?

What did you learn from your experience with community journalism?
