Strengthening Regional Cooperation: CRDC, Together with Civil Society Organizations from Moldova and Armenia, Develops New Joint Directions in Yerevan

Recently, the administrator of CRDC, Irina Bejan, participated in Yerevan in a new module of the program “Resilient Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Region”. The event brought together 10 organizations from the Republic of Moldova and 9 organizations from Armenia, creating a working space dedicated to exchanging experience, strengthening civic resilience, and identifying common solutions to the challenges faced by both countries.

Throughout the two working days, discussions focused on both the specific needs and difficulties of the region, as well as practical directions for joint action. Participants analyzed opportunities for cross-border cooperation, methods of engaging local communities, and effective models for promoting civic participation.

Special emphasis was placed on the creation of a new cooperation platform between organizations from Moldova and Armenia — a space dedicated to sharing best practices, launching joint projects, and developing initiatives with a direct impact on young people in both countries. The platform will support processes of mutual learning, mentoring, thematic exchanges, and collaborations in areas such as youth leadership, community development, and countering disinformation.

Interactive sessions also featured the participation of Petr Prunchik, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Armenia, and Vatslav Shterban, Deputy Head of the Cooperation Department of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia.

Representatives of European institutions reaffirmed the importance of civil society in building resilient communities and the need to strengthen regional cooperation within the Eastern Partnership countries.

During the discussions, the organization’s administrator highlighted the significance of this joint effort:

“Participating in the program in Yerevan reaffirms that organizations from Moldova and Armenia can build a strong network based on mutual learning and common initiatives. We aim for the new cooperation platform to become an active space for sharing best practices and developing youth-focused projects — a key segment for the future of our communities.”

This vision reflects the organization’s goal of creating sustainable partnerships and promoting regional development through the direct and continuous engagement of young people.

The event was organized within the framework of the project “Resilient Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Region,” implemented by People in Need and co-financed by the European Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
