International Day of Families celebrated in Cahul through stories, memories and connections between communities

International Day of Families celebrated in Cahul through stories, memories and connections between communities

On the occasion of the International Day of Families, the Regional Center for Community Development, together with the General Inspectorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Community Center Cahul / Общественный центр Кагул, organized a community activity dedicated to families, dialogue and bringing people closer together.

The event created a warm and open space where families from Moldova, Italy, Ukraine, Türkiye and Azerbaijan sat face to face to share parts of their life stories. Participants spoke about how they met, how they built their families, what keeps them close during difficult times and what mutual support means when life brings changes or challenges.

The activity was about more than celebrating a symbolic day. It was an evening about memory, belonging and the connections that are built between people, regardless of the country they come from or the path that brought them here. Participating families had the opportunity to laugh together, recall memories, create and discover shared experiences in a friendly and safe setting.

Through this activity, we aimed to encourage dialogue between local, refugee and migrant families and to promote community cohesion through personal stories, shared experiences and moments of connection. We believe that family, in all its forms, remains one of the most important spaces of support, trust and resilience.

We thank everyone who chose to spend this evening with us and share part of their family story. Each story contributed to creating an atmosphere of closeness, respect and solidarity.
